My name is Benoît Smets. I was born in 1983 in Belgium and still live there. Since 2013, I am married to a lovely girl called Florence. Together, we have two wonderful children: Tom and Manon. Professionally speaking, I am an earth scientist focusing my research on geohazards and volcanoes in (mostly Central) Africa. My two main motivations: having fun and being useful for the society.
